At Senggigi Beach in Lombok, a surfing competition brings together young surfers from across Indonesia. Amid crashing waves, competitive tension, and the support of their families, they learn to face fear, build courage, and discover their own identity. Waves That Shape Us is a portrait of a new generation of Indonesian surfers and of how the ocean, the waves, and the community shape their character and their future.
